A series of collages created in response to Iran’s contested election in June 2009. Despite government censorship, protesters began to document the unfolding events on the streets of Tehran. These images were then transmitted using the Internet in an attempt to communicate the political tensions within the country. Images of women in defiant poses were downloaded to depict a version of events presenting the female voice challenging positions of authority.

This work was created during a residency at Parramatta Artists Studios in Sydney, Australia.
